Hey marco@ebay I was just reading through today's chat posts and saw a question about links in listings that could use some follow up.

You said you didn't think that was allowed but would check and then came back later and said: "I've just confirmed that links are not allowed, you can see the full policy here. "

However, your link to the full policy shows that it still says that links to another eBay item are allowed.

Did that policy change recently and the page just hasn't been updated yet?

marco@ebay seriously? For clarity, transparency, accountability and just plain courtesy it would have made a lot more sense for you to simply post a new reply acknowledging the incorrect information that was previously provided and providing the correct information instead.

This is not a good look. 🙄

Edit to add: I see your other reply and thank you for the clarity, but it would still be better to have left the original reply intact to avoid confusion.

And when we report listings that have links to external sites or calls to checkout their Facebook pages.... nothing happens

So we can put clickable (href...type) links in the description of an item as long as it is too another ebay page, such as the "see other items", "see our feedback" type, just re-joining the thread to see what is allowed, and any updates from marco.
