I had a buyer who won 3 items via auction , I sent her a message asking her to give me time to speak to customer service before making payment. I spoke to the first agent this morning at just after 8am . He confirmed there was a way to combined postage and told me to ask the buyer to make payment and then ring back . So I contacted the buyer who swiftly who paid , I rand CS back as instructed to be told there was no way to combine postage . I was told to use 1 label for a 2kg parcel and just put everything in one box . I refused to do this as I explained two items would not get tracked . I requested to speak someone , when they tried to transfer me we got cut off . I rang in again and got someone from Ireland who did not have a clue . He finally found someone who could help me , I was told you could add one tracking to the other two items which means I finally could box all 3 up together . He explained when the two labels do not get scanned after 7 days the money will get refunded back to the buyer . I was told to enable combined postage the buyer needs to pay for everything from there basket instead off paying one at a time. I sent I really do not know how you are going to educate the buyer to pay all 3 items together . I spent over 2 hours being passed to 4 different CS agents . My final question was why bring something online before it is complete instead off asking sellers to use something which Is not fit for the purpose. I finally got to my local post office and she told yesterday someone went in with 2 labels on one parcel so she was able to put 2 items in one box but was told they could not except the parcel like that . After what happened with me today I have a feeling CS have no idea how our postal service or simply delivery work s. I even got the same old rubbish about how much better it was to what we all have been using over the last few years .

did you figure this out as yet? I have a few items being purchased in auction by the same buyer. I imagine I can no longer combine postage and packaging as the buyer wants because of the changes to process as ebay own the postage process? It seems really daft to me!

The only answer I know is to agree with the buyer to cancel the orders as 'problem with buyers address' and then create a new combined 'buy it now' listing for them priced at the total of their winning bids with the correct postage option. Agree with them when the listing will start to avoid anyone else buying it or set an unrealistically high price and tell them to make an offer at the right price.
Just another day on the ebay site of horrors.

Its a mess. As a buyer, I cba to bid on items, then need to cancel because combined postage doesn’t work and then wait to buy again. Its time consuming for the seller and also the buyer. I would also need the seller to remind me of a) the price and b) to purchase if there is any time delay coz…well brain fog and a tendency to forget things (I have to set reminders all the time, one of the few things I actually use my phone for 😅). Its not fair, acceptable or professional of ebay to expect both sellers and buyers to do this. Private sellers also rely on a degree of professionalism as buyers tend to remember good, no fuss transactions and will return. The fact that this has gone on so long breeds contempt and a feeling of being undervalued by ebay.

Seller have to ask buyers to upload there items into there basket and pay them all in one go . Simply delivery will then calculate the combined postage , but what i have found it always charges more than when a seller does it . If the buyer pays for them separately sellers are not able to combine the postage . My feelings is it depends how the seller has chosen the postage on the original listing how much it will discount it .

Simply delivery is not used for international postage , I have brought the postage via royal mail or a courier myself then you can upload the tracking details to the sold items . You alai are able to refund any over paid money back to the buyer . When you buy international postage via Royal Mail or Parcel2go for larger parcels you also do all the customs forms online . I have never brought my international postage via Ebay . I sent a large parcel to the Netherlands containing 12 auction items in it was there in 4 days by Evri international

International Buyers also do not pay the buyers protection fee as well , that is for uk simply delivery sales only

Tonight I bought a few more items on the clothing marketplace and found out you can create a combined bundle and then make an offer on it. I previously thought you could only make offers via the item page and therefore it wouldn't be possible to combine postage with offers. That place is miles ahead of Ebay in managed delivery functionality. It's such a mistake of ebay to force SD on people until it's ready.
I listed my first few collection-only items today on the social network marketplace and one sold immediately.
Ebay's degenerative condition gave me the kick to try out new platforms and it's working out well for me.
I don't think it will work out so well for Ebay as their management seem to have made financial commitments to shareholders that are only possible in the short term by damaging the core business. The parable of the golden goose comes to mind. After the kill there were no more golden eggs. The man's foolishness cost him everything.

They do if they registered in the UK. I sold to a buyer in Czechia, they paid BPF even though they do not live in the UK. For whatever reason they registered with ebay UK so now get the extra charge. Which they are not happy about. In the feedback left they ‘kindly’ stated their postage charge, their tax charge and their buyer protection charge. Those charges amounted to more than 3x the cost of their item. I don’t expect to see them back.

Combined postage is something that can really only work properly when the seller has control over the pricing.
Several items purchased together may include all sorts of sizes and weights, & packaging requirements. Only the seller can decide on a fair price for combined postage, which will be acceptable to the buyer. Simple Delivery is not clever enough for this! 🤖

Buyers rarely put all the items they purchase in one basket and make one payment, they are not suddenly going to start doing that unless ebay find a way to prompt them to do so.
It was one of the things I like about packlink because you could select to combine the items, when posting them. Then refund the buyer for the difference.
Buyers won't feel secure that the payment will eventually come to them automatically as the label has been unused.
Plus we the sellers need to be able to re-assure the buyers that this is what will happen. If I hadn't read this thread I wouldn't have known.
