That's because eBay no longer allows sellers to take cash on collection and has measures in place to prevent the exchange of contact information before payment.  These obviously failed in your case.

The ability to mark as paid has been removed as it is no longer required.

You won't be able to.

eBay removed cash on collection as a payment option some weeks ago (to prevent off-site deals avoiding eBay fees).

I think you have to wait for payment for up to 30 days.

mmmm....you're the second poster in 3 days who has managed to swap contact details on a collection only item *without* a payment going through ebay.

How did you manage it?

Nope. OP has managed to get cash payment 😄

(I'm not usually a cheerleader for rule-breaking,  but recently ebay has been such a complete, authoritarian spirit-crushing p.i.t.a., I'm happy to feel cheered by a small 'win'!)

Have to cancel the sale. Do it once or twice u be fine. If u do it all the  time i'm sure ebay will suspend your account.

Thank you to every one that has replied greatly appreciated.

I didn’t realise eBay had changed so that all payments need to go through them which I don’t have a problem with for items that can be posted. However for items that need to be collected due to size cash on collection is always the right way I believe or it is for me or even seriously high value items not that I have any to sell !!

I don’t have a problem paying eBay their share as that is how it is and always was, but they need to sort out unneccesary controlling beauocracy for sure.

The item I recently sold I have had up for a while as in several weeks so the change has come in since, so in future any items that I want to sell that need to be collected I will not use eBay to sell them to much of a faf !!

The process I used to give the buyer my address was a photo sent with a message.

All the very best and thank you for every ones help and support

Hi, I've just had the same experience sent loads of emails but everything is AI, cannot talk to anyone my phone rejected an ebay call as  it  thought it was a spam call from Germany. So not even a UK. number. I will be much the same for anything large I will use gumtree.

What is it that you're trying to sort out here?

Have you sold an item and the buyer paid cash on collection?

"The process I used to give the buyer my address was a photo sent with a message."

Unfortunately that proves that you knew you were breaking eBay rules.

In any event don't cancel the sale.
