Has anyone else noticed a 'boost' overlay on some of their listings if they see them in a search?

I just noticed this and honestly have no idea why it's being marketed at me, I've never, nor would I ever, use any kind of promoted listings system.

There's a couple of reasons, the first is the recent changes to the promoted listings policy seem to indicate that if anyone clicks the listing E-Bay now charge the (circa 10%?) fee, even if the item is purchased 30 days later by a buyer who found it through a normal product search.

The second is that there's no 'independent' tools to validate clicks, nor to see where your 'promoted' listing has been placed, after all, if there's no transparency on what you've actually bought and paid for, how can you use the metrics to then maximise your sales?

Have others noticed this 'boost overlay' on any of their listings when they've searched?

Yes ive seen it couple of times today, but will be keeping my money. Ive tried promoted item promotions, when ebay gave me credit towards to promo, and just basically sold same amount for less money, once additional fees were taken into account. The only thing that may work is a money off promo, but its a close run thing as to whether it really pays off.

Ive not noticed it but even if I did Id ignore it. If buyers still browse, then there’s every chance they will come across my listings (unless they are on page 32 or some such). I still browse and go through pages and pages of listings although these days Im mostly window shopping as Im not selling enough on my private ID to actually have ‘fun funds’. I resent paying out for what appears to be nothing. I have tried promoted listings but it made zero difference in sales.
