Free listing allowance

Help please,   Relisting coming off 300 free listings.

If l  have around 150 items listed and the following month list another 300 as free. Giving me 450 Lots.   I am mostly selling inherited stamps,  postcards, first day covers so not worth me becoming a business as most items are £1/2 and will run out.       I  will be out of free listings very quickly if l have to relist every Lot on a weekly basis from my now 450 Lots.      So really using 300 free Lots unless guaranteed sale it will become as bit of an issue keeping under 300 free listings a month.   Or are 300 Lots each month counted differently towards the 300 free listings when relisted.     I am confused!!!    Have l got this right?

Are most of your items listed in auction format?  Then,  when they end they do not now relist automatically 8 times,  unless you are a new or infrequent seller.  Once they end,  they need to be manually relisted,  and yes,  this then does count towards your monthly 300 free listing allowance .

Listing items in a Buy it Now format, when those items do not sell,  they automatically relist after 30 days,  and those are not counted into your 300 allowance.

The trick then,  is to list all,  or as many of your items in a BIN format,  if you wish to list around 300 items  a month.

Yes, you have that right if you persist in listing everything as Auctions. If you list Buy-It-Now when these Items automatically relist at the end of the month they don't count against your 300 limit. So it is worth your time to see which items have more value and list them BIN. For instance, single Raphael Tuck postcards regularly sell for up to £40 each, so it may be better to wait for the right Buyer at the right price. Best to use auction when:

1. the supply is low (e.g. yours is the only one)

2. the demand is high (lots of Buyers are looking for them)

3. the price is unknown (you can't find anything when you search Completed listings or use the Research tool).

Good luck with finding new homes for your inheritance!
