Hi,
For the last 2 years we have been having issues with EDD not being fit for purpose showing completely unrealistic delivery dates to buyers. This has led to hundreds of INR cases being opened and us being thousands of £ out of pocket.
We have had discussions with the shipping team with eBay who seemed to take our concerns on board and for a short period we actually thought we had cracked it with the EDD's actually being realistic.
However more recently we have noticed the EDD's again being very unrealistic and clearly not fit for purpose.
For example an item we have set a 2 working day dispatch time with the standard post being 2nd class (in eBays own words 2/3 working day delivery)
So a customer who orders on the 26th November should be shown a EDD of 30th November - 2nd December right? this is 2 working days to dispatch the item meaning dispatch on the 28th and then 2/3 working days for delivery takes it to 30th November - 2nd December.
Well apparently this is incorrect according to eBay and its EDD as it shows the item arriving 28th November - 29th November. Now im no calculator but i can see this is clearly wrong.
An item arriving the very same day as being dispatched with 2nd class post if absolutely impossible.
We keep raising this with eBay in the hope they will listen and implement a fit for purpose EDD system that show accurate dates, even better if they extend them by a couple of days. So its the older under promise over deliver saying would bring buyers back. Who would want to buy from somewhere when items don't arrive when advertised?? (falsely on eBays part obviously)
Who else is having issues with EDD being not fit for purpose and not achievable in the real world?

Same here. Buyer bought an item around midnight. The EDD time for it to arrive tomorrow. I send second class only on a small item. No way I can do that in that timel

I appreciate this is not a seller issue, and the yearly ongoing communications to mods/threads on the forum as you say for years.
Only a suggestion as its somenthing sellers can control but does 'the seller tinkering' ie you, with dispatch time give a result your happy with?
Again, I appreciate its something thats not being addressed and its something you shouldnt be dealing with but sometimes trying to resolve issues yourself is the best result.
Just a thought
Only a suggestion, not something I have a problem with (only occassionally) hope you get where I'm coming from
