So a buyer sent me an offer for my sunbed which I accepted last Saturday - invoices sent out, messages sent - no response whatsoever, had to wait 4 days before I could cancel the sale and relist, all intensely annoying. It wouldn't show 'buyer not paid' as the reason for cancelling until the 4th day.
I did a search on all the sunbeds that had sold recently to see what kind of interest there was and saw my own add listed as 'Sold', why is that? (see attachment)
Technically it hadn't been sold as I didn't receive any payment - I thought the definition of a sale was receiving monies for goods 🤔
Can a seller complain about a time wasting buyer or is it just a case of suck it up? I can't imagine what it's like for business sellers if they're having to wait 4 days to be able to relist an item due to non-payment.
What confused me is when I get an email from Ebay to say my item had sold and the buyer had 48 hours to make payment - so why do they make the seller wait another 2 days before they can cancel and re-list?
I have one more question (I know, I'm asking a lot 😆 but can't find the answer) - can you change the account you want to transfer earnings to from a current account to a savings account?
Thanks to anyone who responds.

Non payers are a disappointment, annoying, frustrating and descriptive words which would be removed here if written!
Non payers do unfortunately exist.
eBay send a reminder if they see a buyer hasn't paid in 48 hours, they do not say you Have to pay in that time. Then, after 4 full days have passed with no payment you can open that non payment case. It used to be a 6 day wait for sellers to be able to do this, so eBay have shortened the time for payments feom sales.
Although not visible to members, buyers do get unpaid item strikes on their account. Wise sellers will block any buyer with 2 of those strikes from buying their items. The strikes last a full 12 months. It's very effective I regularly check my Site Preferences to see I've blocked many non payers from my sales.
If there is a pattern of non payment, eBay will ban that buyer from their site permanently.
Cases do work but sellers must use them.
For your second question, no a savings account cannot be used for Managed Payments.

Just to add, your definition of a sale, at least as it applies to ebay, is wrong, hence your unpaid item showing as sold.
That means no-one else can buy it in the meantime.

Thank you!! I blocked the seller (when I finally figured out how to do it) and there was a also a box ticked about sellers with 2 or more strikes, so when you check your preferences what are you looking for?
I'm referring to when you wrote "It's very effective I regularly check my Site Preferences to see I've blocked many non payers from my sales."
Thanks for the info about the account, I had an inkling I couldn't use a savings account for my payments, I preferred it when it went to Paypal and then I could just transfer from there to that account.

It's on the same page where you blocked your buyer, under Buyer Rules
@brenata-ukManage block settings and rules activity logClicking on that link in blue above will show you any buyers who have attemtpted but failed to buy from you. If you have blocked overseas members it will show any worldwide buyer who has tried to buy from you too.

I get that two people can't buy the same item but I wish Ebay would leave the ad running until payment had been made to avoid this 4 day thing, they should do that thing like on the TV shopping channels where they say 'it's not yours until you've checked out' 😂
