Delivery

I have sold several items on ebay and they have all been delivered but ebay as not updated and they all show as awaiting delivery so I am still waiting for my money . Anyone else had this problem and how did you resolve it . ?

The old way of selling was fine , why they had to change things is beyond me . It's really put me off selling on here anymore .

This is a nightmare. I'm in the same boat...you, me and thousands of other ebayers. An example of the problem I am currently experiencing. I sold an item, posted it, tracked and signed, delivered. Royal Mail website states delivered. The buyer has left me pos feedback. Ebay is showing awaiting delivery and hasn't updated the confirmation. This was 4 days ago. I am still waiting for the funds to be placed in my 'ebay balance'. Another item I sold was delivered on Monday, Royal Mail HASN'T updated their site so ebay is stating awaiting deliveryI I got the buyers phone number off order details and rang them. I lied to the buyer and said "now you've received your item" (even though I didn't know that they had of course) "are you happy with it"? "Oh yes, it's great and you packed it well, thank you". I am still waiting for Royal Mail to update the delivery status and then will have to wait for ebay to update (that's if they do) before I get payment. I WANT MY MONEY EBAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I no longer shop outside the UK due to having to wait 14 days till Ebay release funds. Mind you I've only listed 3 items since 4th February as I can't be bothered anymore.

If a private seller was to ring me about an order I'd be absolutely livid about them misusing my contact details.

Contact details are there for a reason...to contact a fellow member. Why would you be livid with someone ringing as a courtesy call to see if they were happy with their item? I needed to find out if they had received their item due to Royal Mail not updating. I had an idea that they had received it as enough days had passed for delivery. It was a last resort as I firstly tried to message them but hey-ho, ebay messaging system wasn't working! The item was quite a lot of money and I was rather worried about it. I have not received any payment for it and have contacted Royal Mail and complained but as yet, no update on tracking and of course no money.

I was under the impression that ebay recommends that contact between members should be conducted inside of ebay.

Whether I am happy with an item or not, a "courtesy call" is unwarranted.

That's right Steel, yes, BUSINESS within ebay, but after money has been paid, the buyers phone number is there on the order details. In fact, it is there twice. Under the address and also on 'contact info'. Ebay wouldn't give a phone number if they wanted correspondence strictly inside ebay would they! I presume you ticked the box next to your details when you joined so that your phone number is not visible to fellow members when you've bought something. As I stated,  I contacted the buyer to find out if they had received their item because the messaging option was not working and ebay and royal mail have messed up tracking. I had to play this carefully. What I didn't want to do is ask the buyer if they had received the item as the tracking is not working. I could have had an unscrupulous buyer who said "no" and then decided to open a case and get a refund as there was no way of proving they'd had it. There are plenty of those types of people out there. I pretended I knew that they'd had it and if they were happy with it and they were. I mad it look like a courtesy call but of course it wasn't really. It was a quick and friendly phone call. Royal Mail is still stating that "we've got it" so, no delivery, NO MONEY FOR ME.

Don't forget, the (private) seller does not refund the buyer if the item goes missing in the post. eBay refund the buyer, so there is no need to "pretend" you knew the item had arrived. You have no liability for refunding if you posted with Simple Delivery, as eBay now refund buyers for you if items are lost or damaged in the post.

Only business sellers are now liable for items lost or damaged in the post

Yes this new way of selling stinks

ive got two sold items that the buyer has left good feedback but Ebay say waiting for delivery confirmation

Royal Mail tracking number on their site says " will update when delivery attempted "

Plus it costs more for tracking

fed up with Ebay
