DROP IN SALES SINCE NEW BUYER PROTECTION 4TH FEB 2025

Has anyone else noticed lack of sales since the buyer protection update 4th february 2025. I used to sell quite a lot and virtually sold nothing since 4th Feb. Can anyone else relate to this and what can we do?

Well.. that seems to be it with ebay! 24 years ain't been to bad I suppose! 🙄 Very frustrating though! I don't think its the buyer protection fee that is destroying private sellers, rather the fact that they are trying to recoup the costs on allowing private sellers to list for free by forcing us to promote our listings. They must have an algorithm that deliberately prevents buyers from viewing private seller listings thereby forcing us to pay the fees to promote them! 6 weeks and counting from the changes and sales completely gone!  😠

I was searching DVD’s yesterday whilst I was scanning into Ziffit and I’m seeing private seller new DVD’s with the great price badge even when they are more expensive than the business seller’s. They are also appearing higher on lowest price search. Someone a few weeks ago was showing how it was happening on trading cards too so presumably it is going on across the board.

I don’t search often but I don’t get the impression they are hiding listings. Rather they made private sellers less competitive in lower priced items and then distorted the search so now it is ordered by how much fees the item is worth to eBay over what is best for the buyer. As if buyers won’t notice!

my sales are unlikly to be wound up in any alogorythm as the items are generaly quite uniquie, but sales have tailed off over the last 18 months

With manipulation of shippping and other issues, Its not worth the effort  

My stuff generaly ends up going to charity now, which is good, probably came from there as not buying on ebay much now
