Has anyone else noticed lack of sales since the buyer protection update 4th february 2025. I used to sell quite a lot and virtually sold nothing since 4th Feb. Can anyone else relate to this and what can we do?

Totally and I have been a member since 2005. I am leaving and concentrating solely on Vinted and Vestaire Collective as I sell high end designer goods mainly and get good prices with none of the high charges that seem to increase as you set the price. I fear Ebay days are numbered.

I have also noticed that since the 4th February as a private seller since this buyer protection fee i have sold nothing for 2 weeks now. It's beyond a joke, Ebay has gone down hill since it's been free to list.

well according to your sold items there have been 7 sales since the 1st March, unless you are talking about a different account!

I'm convinced people are addicted to misery on here.

I haven't sold anything until yesterday since the 6th of March so yes essentially 2 weeks I haven't sold anything for! But thank you for your input!

or it could be that they choose to pick the fights they feel are worth it!

actually the last item until yesterday (the 15th) was on the 8th and you said you had sold nothing for two weeks, which as you posted the comment on the 15th would take you back to the 1st. If you are going to tell your hard luck story at least get the info correct. So many people are coming on here now with negative comments that are not facts.

That item i had to refund, so I am not counting all I said was I noticed a difference since the buyer protection fee, i was giving my opinion, and if you don't like it that's fine but there's no need to jump on my comment. Its not a hard luck story, I am just giving my opinion, don't like it scroll on by!

i am not trying to make a case for or against as i do not know the facts, i know that they do not appear to have made any difference (so far) to my sales as i have had my best Feb since i started selling. I also know that as a buyer it has had no effect on whether i purchase an item or not. If i want an item i buy it. I only purchase wants not impulse buys. What i do know is that it really does depend on what you are selling.

The problem is that you stated you had had no sales for two weeks not just that you had noticed a difference. That is why i picked you up on it because it was not a true fact but just something to try to bolster your point. If you had actually had no sales then i would have said nothing but i am so fed up of people coming on here and making claims that are not facts but just puff for their 'opinion'. Why should i scroll by? It is a discussion site and if you come on here to make a point then expect someone else to disagree, not everyone agrees. I have been slated for my opinions but i do not throw teddy out of the cot over it. I personally do not like the new system but i am giving it a go and so far it has been okay for me. In FACT my february sales have been the best ones (Feb) since i began selling. Coincidence probably but i go with what is happening.

Many sellers are not aware of quite how much of their sales history is available to others and think it's just what shows on feedback. You are not the first, and won't be the lase, to fall into the trap of 'over egging the pudding'.
