DPD Drop Off/Collection and Tracking Issue

It is very interesting that I have recently sold two pairs of trainers on different days, and both were supposed to go to the Authenticity Service first.

Trainer 1: I packed and dropped off the parcel at the DPD drop-off point I always use (Basingstoke Festival Place Customer Lounge) on Saturday, 7th December. The tracking on eBay was updated to "Your parcel has been dropped off at a DPD Pickup Shop" immediately.

Trainer 2: I packed and dropped off the parcel at the DPD drop-off point I always use (Basingstoke Festival Place Customer Lounge) on Tuesday, 10th December. The tracking on eBay was updated to "Your parcel has been dropped off at a DPD Pickup Shop" immediately.

After several days, I noticed that neither of the trainers' tracking had been updated as picked up. I decided to visit the DPD point where I dropped off my trainers on Friday, 13th December. I was told that DPD collects items within 24 hours, so they didn't have any parcels at the store. No further information was provided, even though I showed evidence that both parcels' latest record was that they had been dropped off. I contacted eBay Customer Service immediately, as DPD could not be reached. eBay Customer Service said they would open a case to investigate this further with DPD.

Just to note, I have never had any problems with this drop-off point, which is why I have always used it.

Have you ever had this experience recently? What would be your suggestions moving forward?

Hope you all have a better experience and a great Christmas!

Thanks

If you've got the drop off email than I'd say wait and if nothing happens, contact CS to make a claim. It's those that never get a receipt or email that have to worry. As far as I know they can't wriggle out of these ones.

I hate to say it but I wonder if some insiders are able to tell this is a potentially valuable trainer / handbag package from the address? (Guessing not jewellery from the size of box...!) Is it an obvious 'VALUABLE ITEM ASSESSMENT CENTRE' address or more subtle? Doesn't matter once someone knows anyway. Only asking as this isn't the first time we've seen this.
