Does anybody else have a problem with the fact that on postings at the top, E bay display items from competitors under the heading "You may also be interested in these". I find this very annoying as I have paid to advertise my items and not those of my competitors

Agree, its annoying.
But to clarify something - what you've paid to list your items. The advertising space is completely separate and as you can imagine is a significant revenue generator for eBay.

If you promote your listings - do you think your competitors are saying the same thing?

So many sellers promote in various different way that ebay has had to find somewhere to actually promote them and unfortunately our listings are considered by ebay to be fair game.

It's annoying and unethical. Pay to play now. Surprised they don't have a feature that allows u to steal the actual sale from a competitor for 50%.

Ah but from what i gather the ads we're on about here are eye wateringly expensive. Pay per click which used to be min 2p. Now its min 20p and of course they gonna keep upping that. It's like the 90s all over again except not profitable.

On my you-tube channel I get paid from all the advertisers on my content / pages.
You-tube gets 55% of the revenue
I get 45%
But on here
You-tube gets 100% from advertisers paying for PL
Seller gets 0.00% . Even if the click from your page leads to a sale from the advertiser.
