I'm trying to add some text to the description of a listing which has bids on it. I realize I can't change the actual description for obvious reasons, but the option is there to add to it.
However if I try, I get 3 errors:
1) Looks like something is missing. Please fix any issues and try again: International delivery locations, International postage.
2) Portions of this listing cannot be revised if the item has bid or active Best Offers or is ending in 12 hours.
3) Postage service cannot be revised if the item has bid or active Best Offers or is ending in 12 hours.
The problem occurs even if I change *nothing* and just hit save.
It has just occured to me that eBay changed the way the postage stuff works from 20th May - and my items were created before then, so I am guessing it cannot handle this, so this is why? Which means there is no way I can add the information I want?

It's no longer possible to edit a listing that has a bid on.

Good Evening Alien
If your bidder is complaining about you amending the postage after he has bid then you could do one of two things ie contact him and tell him that is not true or possible, or two cancel the bid, block him and let the auction run with the alteration/addition that you wish to make.

Ebay could have changed the item from non-SD to SD hence changing the postage cost.
Ebay could have changed the postage cost of an (always) SD item - there was at least one thread on here where the seller claims that. I think it got changed back, I think s/he called customer services about it.
Are you stopped from entering an international post rate to fix 1). Can you select None for international postage?

I think maybe I didn't word my post very well. I mean eBay is complaining, as in coming up with the errors I listed, when I try and add to the description. That is literally all I am trying to do. Not change anything else.

It doesn't let me change anything about postage as far as I can see. I literally just want to add a line to the description. It provides an area for me to do it (the original description I cannot touch for obvious reasons) - but then I get errors when I try and apply it.

I think I'll give up with trying to add anything to the description, I don't think it'll make much difference to the outcome. I suspect this is a bug to do with the changing postage system that came into force on 20th May.

Even if eBay ' is complaining' , asking to change something on you listing, you cannot do this once a bid has appeared.
It's not a bug , a bidder would not necessarily come back and read a description again , after deciding to place a bid, and therefore, could miss some vital information. Hence, once a bid is placed. nothing can be changed.

They literally give you a box to add to the description (not edit) if you click to revise the listing. Before bids it lets you edit the description, after bids it gives you a whole new box so that you can add to it. Also the error occurs even if I don't do anything at all. To be clear: if I click "revise", and then immediately hit "save" without doing anything else I still get the error regarding postage, which indicates this is more about the postage system change.
Here is revising an item with no bids:
Here is revising an item with bids. You can see the original description with a grey backround that cannot be edited, but you're invited to add more below:
But again, to be clear, the error occurs even if I do nothing.
