If eBay wasn't earning enough. Now they are hitting buyers with fees. Buyer protection fee, do the eBay founders think we are all stupid. I don't sell on eBay due to the fees, and now there's fees to buy. I won't be using eBay untill the fee are gone.
If enough follow suit, they will remove it

My wife has just stopped her eBay selling because of all the changes. She has gone over to Vinted.

I have only ever used eBay, and have lost complete trust in the platform... stopped buying last year and only sold one item at the beginning of January for a tenner...surprised that sold as only a few views on each item and no watchers? Visibility was dire, for some unknown reason. I do not intend to list anything especially of value whereby I could possibly lose the items and funds due to one reason or another by eBay " standards'...and SD postal service makes it impossible to " navigate" what once was manageable. They seem far too " trigger" happy to " restrict" accounts with too many stories of buyers held funds , which accumulate without any reasoning or full explanation, even for business sellers.
Imagine working for 40 hours, and your employer keeps extending your pay check days, weeks or even months? Would you stay and work another 40 hours? Policy or not, it seems unethical, immoral, oppressive and out of touch especially with the economy as it is.

Most of the recent changes are similar to what vinted already does.

Yes, but with the difference that vinted doesn't have quite the same buyer protection.
Along with the fact that stuff on vinted sells very cheaply, a lot of people who make bad buys on vinted are more inclined to chuck stuff in the bin rather than deal with returning things...

Firstly they were earning much less with the introduction of fee for private sellers to sell.
So if you left before that you missed a trick there you could have sold for absolutely nothing.
Yes they are hitting buyer with a BPF not something i agree with, but they cannot do everything they do on the site for FREE. so someone has to pay.
Business already pay extortionate fee for the privilege to sell, so we were propping up the private sellers for a 5 month period.
If you want to blame anyone you can blame those business on private accounts. All these changes have been brought in to combat them. unfortunately it will also effect the genuine private seller just clearing stuff out.
And if your thinking of going to vinted they have exactly the same BPF, waiting to get your money and manged postage. and whatever happen to shpock?
