Best Practice for Listing SEO

Just wondering what experienced sellers here consider the main things that help a listing get better visibility on eBay. From your experience, what tends to matter most for search — title keywords, item specifics, price, photos, description, or seller performance?

Is there any rough priority between these, or anything that consistently helps with impressions over time? Curious to hear what people have found works in practice.

Best Practice for Listing SEO

Hi @mus-755617

There is a tendency to describe the items in front of you in a sentence which leads to wasted characters and key words at the end of the description not the begining.

Cat motif Blue, pink & white long sleeve ladies pyjamas size 12 cotton M&S VGC

- would be better as

M&S pyjamas ladies size 12 100% cotton long sleeve blue pink white cat mouse

Photos are better on a mannequin or worn for clothes. Clean,  plain background or remove background. Close up to capture the fabric texture. With a tape measure showing sleeve length, pit to pit etc.

Sales increase uour other item search rankings. Sell stuff off cheap if it has been on sales for months with little interest to get some sales, increase metrics on the overview page. Check items regularly for views. No views in two weeks, probably something wrong with description. Only a couple of views after 6 weeks, too low down the search order, "sell similar " to refresh the item. Keep refreshing items with low views and check price against sold items to see if your price is reasonable.

Price 10% higher than you hope to get and make offers to watchers. Use most appropriate postage for item. I fing second class posted at a post office before lunchtime collection is pretty close to first class delivery.
