AND IT JUST GETS WORSE - FORCED TO CANCEL ORDER

Hello,

I had sold an item on the 21st March and there were no problems. On 24th March I sold an item with a value of £191. Today 25th I packed the item up and would have been posting within the hour BUT when I went to print the postage label - RM24 Medium Parcel 2-5 KG I found that I could only send by the way Ebay wanted me to send - they wanted me to use a RM48 Small parcel under 2kg label.

I was then left with no option but to cancel the order as the box would have been weighed and rejected at the Post Office for having a label that was for a parcel smaller in size and weight.

So what are Ebay doing asking sellers to send parcels with under paid labels ?.

This is just ridiculous now.

When you are listing items, or selling similar, if you click on the link 'switch to advanced options' (under the box about Simple Delivery) you can revert to setting your own postage. At least for the time being.

I doubt it helps you much at this stage, but I never buy postage from ebay.  I always go to the Royal Mail site, very straightforward and I can get exactly what I need, including even collection from my home if I wish (I do).  Or for larger items, other sites such as ParcelForce.

Ebay seem utterly oblivious of the fact that most sellers prefer to be in control.

For the future, ensure that you're not accidentally listing with Simple Delivery included.

Yes, it sounds like this is what happened. Shame to lose a nice sale - if the buyer is still interested, OP could relist the item with own postage.

Unfortunately, Simple Delivery is appearing as the default option now, so you have to fiddle about to revert to 'normal' postage...
