When promoted listings was introduced, I found that my sales dropped in volume by a significant amount.
For this reason I added the promote listing to all my ebay listings even if it was just the minimum 2%
I have been reviewing the promoted listings charges on my seller account and I have discovered something concerning.
It seems that if someone orders multiple items in one order, it will either charge the promoted listing fee on each item of the order or not at all.
Now I thought that maybe this is because people could have clicked on a promoted listing link on one product and then another within the 30 days so it would correctly charge on each one.
However, I have just finished looking through the last 2000 orders on ebay and in all orders that contain multiple items, I have been charged a promoted listing fee on each item of the order.
So, for example, if someone orders 3 different products by adding them to their basket such as:
- USB-C cable 2m
- Laserjet Paper A4
- Laptop Battery 12v
Ebay will either charge the promoted listing fee on each item or won't charge it on any of them.
So is ebay automatically adding promoted listing fees on every item of an order if only one had been clicked on by the customer?
This doesn't seem to be right.
