Hi,

I'm not 100% sure but think this is a mark used by Francis Dillon of Cobridge, Staffordshire between 1834-43

Hi

Thanks for the reply, I've looked into this but still can't find a mark similar to this. Also the registration number of 63312 seems to indicate a date of 1886 which I think fits in with the design. It does look ike a DF Co symbol and underneath that is 456DF.

Still can't work it out though.

Hi,

Try this site:

http://www.tile-heaven.co.uk/info/registered-designs.htm

For a small charge they will tell you who has registered the number and manufactured the tile.

Cheers

Terry

Hi Terry

Many thanks for that, i've not checked in for a while so had not seen your message before now. I've just sent the details off to the site you mentioned and will let you know what they come up with when I know. What a great service!

thanks again

Having had a quick look through their tiles for sale and a bit more googling it might be Derwent Foundry Co. but will wait to hear back from them first. Definitely worth the small look up fee anyway 🙂

Thanks for the feedback. i'm pleased that you have found an answer. There are some wierd things happening on ebay since they tinkered around with the format yet again. I have found that log in sometimes drops out and that's the reason why you can't find the groups you are a member of. They seem to reappear if you sign in again.

Hi

Yes I was happy to know the answer thanks for the great website will definitely use that again 🙂 and must remember to sign in I do find the new groups system less user friendly than before which is why I'm not on here much these days unfortunately.
