Hi all,
I am hoping someone can id the mark in the attached image. I believe it is dutch delft late 17th/early 18th century. I've checked a number of signature databases (old and sold, kovels etc) without finding a copy. IS this Delft or an imitation. The bowls certainly seem to have the right age and commnesurate wear and tear. They are tin glazed with a soft paste biscuit of the right colour. My only concern is they are quite thinly potted though this might be the reason brass was attched to the upper rim and foot rim for strengthening purposes.

Can you show a picture of the front? From your description they sound fine. I can't see a reproduction having brass reinforcements added.

apologies, I could only attach one image to my original email. I'm pretty certain they are original though it would be great to id the maker. I know there were only a limited number of makers of dtuch delft during the 17th century and a lot of the marks were representative of old breweries the took over but I haven't managed to source this particular mark. Tks Gerry
