simple delivery problem

Hi,

selling some items that are not high value but weigh under 2 kilos so selected small parcel option.

Problem is I have now sold two items to the same buyer which has taken the weight over 2 kilos.

EBAY have lumped the two sales together under the same postage cost. As I see it I now have to purchase separate postage label for the second parcel at my own cost

If these were sold under the 'simpleton delivery' then the mistake is eBay's and you can put both together in one with one label.

I would cancel with buyer's agreement and relist them together with correct postage for the buyer to buy again.

Since these are combined Simple Delivery postage, eBay says that you can pack them separately and use the same label on each when packing them together would put them overweight.

Sorry, that is total rubbish. Once the first parcel has been scanned at the post office, it won't allow the second one.

No, the Pist Office has to accept all Simple Delivery items regardless of size/wrigt:

'Note: Royal Mail has advised post offices to accept all Simple Delivery packages, as long as the parcel remains within the maximum weight and dimensions. These are 20kg and 61cm x 46cm x 46cm. You can see our FAQs for more information.'

I don't know where you are getting that idea from.  Each label can only be used once:

Can I use one label to post multiple items to a buyer?

If your buyer has purchased more than one item from you in a single transaction, you’ll receive one prepaid label for posting your items to them. You can only use the label provided once.

Everyone says this and maybe that is whats supposed to happen, but royal mail dont do it. When I was a private seller I had issues with it and I told them at the post office that they had to accept as ebays simple delivery etc, they argued that they didnt. I also had them then leaving a slip with customers saying i hadnt paid full delivery cost. Maybe they are supposed to, but it seems the staff havent been told.
