I have sold a suit to a buyer who has messaged to say they are unable to pay. They live in jersey , but i don't know if that is why. I have checked my preferences and I have not excluded the channel islands. I thought it could be to do with the new simple delivery system which uses couriers and therefore it might be more expensive to send to the channel islands, so I tried to send the buyer an invoice after calculating the postage cost via Royal Mail postage. Because it is listed as simple delivery, Ebay will not let me create an alternative invoice and I don't seem to be able to opt out of simple postage, so I don't know what to do. Can anyone help ?

Thank you for responding, but I dont understand how that can work as the buyer has said that they cant pay ... so there is nothing to refund . I am not keen to share any personal information outside of ebay with my buyer so I need to find a way to solve it within the ebay system. I am wondering whether this is a problem related to this new postage system ....

Seems to be a common issue, this thread might help but there are others if you have a quick search.

Its probably due to Evri charging more to send to the Channel Islands, Royal Mail do not. You can opt out of Evri in your postage preferences then cancel the transaction and relist. This time it will default to RM and the buyer should be able to buy.
