I've been selling on eBay for many years, and like everyone else, I have been forced into using SimplevDelivery.
Most of my sales are relatively low-value items, so using Evri isn't a big deal, but I'm about to list something of significant value, so I would prefer to use Royal Mail for that item only, but reading the notes it seems that changing it for one listing, changes it for all my listings.
I've 'checked' the Royal Mail box in the 'preferred courier' section so I now have 3 couriers selected (RM, Evri and Inpost) how do I ensure my expensive item goes with Royal Mail?
Hope I've explained this OK. Or am I missing something? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

As you assumed, if you change your settings to only use RM, that will apply to all of your listings.
It's a bit more complicated but, if you don't want to de-select Evri for everything, you could offer your item with free postage/seller pays.
You can then disregard the Ebay label and buy your own.
You can claim back for the Ebay label.
You will not be able to change the tracking but should inform the buyer regarding the method sent and revised tracking details.

You can't. It's either or for all listings. If you want Royal Mail - you only need to tick Royal Mail, but that will apply to all your listings. Note, ebays terms also state that it is possible they could still choose an alternative courier even if you only have Royal Mail selected.
