Seller gave wrong item

Hi all, I am seeking an advice please as this case is now open for few weeks and I am tired of giving any more of my time on this. I purchased a wardrobe from a seller (all boxed, new)which my husband went to collect with his car. We ordered Uber XL in order to transport it.

we did not know at the time but the seller has given us parts of another wardrobe and 1 part of the one I bought. There were number of missing stuff including one big part. I immidiately notified the seller and sent photo. They responded that all is correct and that I need to put all parts together. This is what we did (leaving the doors and few other small bits) . Now we have two parts of two different wardrobes and I have opened a case. Ebay advised to return the wardrobe, seller paid postage return which we need to take nearly 14 miles away from here. Can you advise what should we do?

You say "Ebay advised to return the wardrobe, seller paid postage".    That's sounds correct so far.   Can you explain what the problem is?

thank you, the fact that we need to pay further costs for transporting the wardrobe to the depot, for which we wont be reimbursed (which will make it +120 pounds in transport alltogether) and that we spent couple days in total in putting the wardrobe together as my husband has bad back . We have suggested £250 pounds refund for the parts we already got and end of story but this was rejected. We do not wish to pay further costs for transporting again and again carrying the heavy boxes

If the seller hasn't adjusted the return postage cost for the item, and it is insufficient,  contact eBay Customer Services explain the postage cost required,  and they should provide the correct label and charge it to the seller's account.

This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

Lines open between 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays.

9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.

I recommend contacting CS very first thing in the morning, when the lines first open,  as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

I see a problem here as if the seller has provided a courier label that is sufficient but the OP has to get the item to the courier depot, there is really no difference than in a case where a seller provides a RM label and the buyer has to take it to the PO.

In both cases getting the item to the point of dispatch is the buyer's responsibility, and at their cost.
