Royal Mail Large Letter 1kg Limit?

Am I going crazy here? eBay allow us to buy a Tracked 24 or 48 Royal Mail large letter up to 1kg but Royal Mail’s online price guide states the limit is still 750g?

I’ve been caught out with a 900g large letter hit with a surcharge. I rang Royal Mail and they deny a 1kg limit exists and I should take it up with eBay.

Has anyone else had this issue? Am I missing something?

I can see now that Royal Mail’s guide has an asterisk and Tracked LL clearly has a 1kg limit. The person I spoke to doesn’t know their own policy. 

Has anyone had the same surcharge wrongly applied and got it refunded via dispute after their buyer had to pay it?
