Postage Issue

Hi,

Iv sold an item, got a prepaid label that was generated before I got to the drop off location. They said it was too big and heavy.

Im going to send the item my self through parcel force… but my question is, how to I refund the label? Or is that a no go now?

Iv tried going through Ebay but just going round in circles… Help please!

Thanks in advance 🙏

The buyer paid for the label and if it's not used (scanned) the cost will be automatically refunded to them in 30 days.   You don't have to do anything.

Was it Simple Delivery?

If so:

-Who was the carrier?

-What was the size and weight?

-Maximum size and weights are here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/posting-items/setting-postage-options/simple-delivery?id=5575#se... If within the maximum, the drop off location should take it, regardless of what size and weight is printed on the label. (If you overrode what ebay suggested for size/weight, ebay may come for the difference plus a fee, but you don't pay that at the drop off point.)

This is how refunds work for unused Simple Delivery labels.....

  • If you selected 'Buyer pays’ when you created the listing, your buyer will automatically be refunded for any Simple Delivery label that isn’t used after 30 days

  • If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling.  Also ensure you add the replacement tracking number of the service used, and it shows delivery.

Refunds will take 30 days to appear back in the member's account.
