Question 1: Is simple delivery now TOTALLY compulsory? I used to opt out of simple delivery and set my own postage rates, which I then covered by using up my large stock of Royal Mail postage stamps.
But in the first few days of November 2025 I have noticed that this option is no longer available, and that I have to use simple delivery. I have also noticed that when I edit an old listing (where I HAD opted out of simple delivery), it tells me that simple delivery will override my preferred options.
Question2: “ Will I be now forced to accept ebay’s calculation of postage?
Question 3: Will I be now be forced to print an eBay label? Or (if I am happy to despatch an item without tracking) can I still use postage stamps - I have previously managed to do this by simply marking an item as “Despatched”.
Thanks for any and all replies.

Yes, Simple Delivery is mandatory for Private sellers, there is no opt out anymore.
Some items, those lightweight and those oversize / heavy weight in some categories are exempt from SD.
You could still use your own stamps for items eligible for SD, your payout would be delayed for a minimum of 14 days.

You can also still opt out by paying for your choice of Tracked service, updating the SD tracking number to yours, and requesting an SD label refund within 14-days (or Buyer's SD label will be automatically refunded with 30-days).
