Hi I sold an item a few days back.
I dispatched it promptly using Royal Mail tracked 48 service. Item was attempted delivery yesterday, then again today. Both times the delivery has been attempted but failed. I even messaged the buyer to alert them to the fact it is out for delivery today, and still it seems nobody was in to answer the door and accept the item.
I just want my money, these new rules are ridiculous. I've sent the item, Royal Mail has attempted to deliver it twice and yet my money is locked away with eBay through no fault of my own. I've sold 100+ items over a period over years and I've been an eBay member for 10+ years with 100% feedback, and yet I'm getting penalised because a buyer was not in.
I want my money asap, what can I do? Anyone else experienced this, it is quite frankly ridiculous. I get that people can be busy at the weekend but why do eBay need to hold my funds, they can see the delivery has been attempted multiple times. Now it seems like the buyer has got to re-arrange for the item to be delivered, which they may not do for a while if at all?! All this whilst I am stuck without the money I sold my item for, this is so frustrating!

If the buyer doesn't start a "not received" case the payment will be released after 14 days.

Thanks for the information, 14 days from when? 14 days from when the item sold? Pretty disgusting that I've got to potentially wait 2 weeks to get my funds to be frank. I wish eBay never changed the rules.

I know, it's not great. It's 14 calendar days from the date of sale.

Thanks again for the reply. Do you know where this 14 day rule comes from, I can't see any reference to that in my account, it just saying "pending delivery"

Thank you, they really should consider attempted delivery the same as delivered with respect to releasing funds.
