what do you think about ebay soccer stickers business!?

Hi Guys,

Recently I started thinking about having my ebay store opened, and be an ebay full timer!!

what does that need!::

1.huge inventory with reasonable assorted items!

2.excellent relationship with some wholesalers!

3.and be so patient, in making money!!

but what do you think about the following issues:

1.how much your inventory should be as a start point!?

2.how much your monthly minimum profit!!

3.is it enough profitable to sell recent panini mass products only!?

4.finally, is it easy to keep reasonable level of inventory!?

wait for your valued feedback!

regards,

Steve

I have been selling & swoping stickers for a while, most important is your relationship with other collectors, they will always be repeat buyers and tell other collectors if you run a great service and of course having a large stock, not just Panini but Merlin/Topps stickers also, you will find nearly all collectors collect every sticker collection there is lol.

The demand for stickers is there, if you have the stock and a good relationship with your buyers you will do very well, sticker collectors are the most honest best people to deal with, i have dealt with a lot and they have all been superb and a pleasure to deal with.

I would also add that unfortunately there is a lot of time wasters on ebay when dealing with stickers, and i mean a lot of them.

Pretty much agree with Martin here Steve in that for a successful Ebay store you would need to stock extra items other than Panini but still related to collecting. Stickers are big sellers however i think cards like match attax ect are even bigger sellers imo. Ebay can be a fickle experience at time and as Martin has stated building a reputation and trust with your customer base would be ESSENTIAL.

I have tentatively looked into setting up an Ebay shop in the past. In my opinion you would need to sell a large amount each month to make it work. It would be something you would need to put a LOT of effort in to make it work. There is TONS of competition Steve in this type of market and thats something to bear in mind pal.

Good luck if you do go for it and if i can help in any small way to promote your business i will

Alec

Is it possible for you to start your business as a part time venture initially, to build up a client base whilst working elsewhere? This would give you valuable experience.
Create your own identity whatever!
Do you have a reliable supplier of stock?
Know your market (stock on shelves is dead money.)
Could you sustain a downturn in sales?
Speak to a good accountant (if you are working from home it's also your business address.)
Talk to your bank/local business adviser.
Have a clear view on the direction you want to drive your business.
If you take the plunge, good luck!

Hi,

some points still need answer:

1. difficultly of dealing with cards value, as truly I'm not good in that!! while so excellent in stickers!since 1982!

2. how much the value of start inventory, does not matter in pound or dollar!?

3. is there a certain level of inventory I need to maintain!?

wait for your feedback.

I appreciate that!>

Valuing cards is difficult due to the demand and the ups and downs of the prices and of course the condition of the card, there is no clear value of a card, you can only value a card really by it's rarity, in saying that i have seen the price of rare cards drop by quite a lot over the last few years, i would say the the rare Panini cards are more desirable than Match Attax and tend to go up in value rather than down.

Question 2 ?

Question 3
Don't sell too many collections of stickers to start with, it can be very time consuming, you Must have a good system to be able to get your orders out, i have had members ask for 400+ stickers for different collections it takes hours sorting it out, if you get 4 or 5 buyers wanting a large amount in one day good luck lol

Choose which collections you want to sell, and buy as many as possible to keep stock up, like i said earlier, if you have the stock, have a good relationship with your buyers and run a very good service you will do very well.
