why when purchasing an item, does the invoice on ebay only show vat for the buyer fees?

Does that mean the seller is not VAT registered?

If buying from private seller, you pay buyer protection fee.

VAT is charged on this fee, not the item.

All items on ebay have to include VAT in price.
