terrible service

i bought what was meant to be a kettle of certain capacity. when it arrived it was more like a teapot and much smaller than should have been.  let seller know pretty quickly and printed off label to return.  now find the case has been closed, no refund given

 

furious now, not only being messed around over something as simple as item spec.  seller clearly didn't seem to care or communicate efficiently to answer questions to find an alternative.

 

i needed this fairly urgently and pretty hacked off over the bot helpchat which demonstrates no sympathy or compromise.  they've broken the law as item not fit for purpose surely.  puts you off ordering in future!

 

guess i'll have to take it up with company that arranged payment cos ebay not doing its job properly in this case!

The one thing I cannot see in this post is "I opened a case with eBay for not as described within 30 days"

 

Did you actually do so?   It's pointless "contacting the seller" as it must all be done through eBay.    The seller should send the label which has tracking.

 

Open the case within 30 days and use reason "not as described", add a photo.  If the seller does not send the label within 3 business days simply escalate to eBay and you will get a refund, probably.  If the label arrives pack it wonderfully and send it off.  When tracking shows delivered the seller ahs 48 hours to refund otherwise escalate.
