return of ring under authentication programme

Hi I have had an authentication failure/item returned because it didn't match description.I mistakingly declared that it was hallmarked rather than stamped 750. what is the best way forward, the buyer is still interested if relisted with correct info

I can't see why you wouldn't be able to relist it with the correct information in specifics and description.

You could relist it as a "buy now" at a price agreed with the buyer, and message them immediately with the item number so they can hopefully buy it before anyone else does.

You need to check ebay's jewellery policy - all gold jewellery sold on the site has to have full UK hallmarks, even if it doesn't qualify for authentication.

Essentially, any jewellery sent to the authenticators has to follow the jewellery policy rules.

You can follow rhe links and read all the details, but I have copied and pasted the key parts.

I know there is lots of jewellery for sale and sold on the site which is not hallmarked, but anything sent to the authenticators has to follow the jewellery policy to the letter.

You can send items away to be hallmarked - it is not as difficult or expensive as you might think.
