On the eBay site it states that I have received a full refund, however, on my credit card statement there are 2 entries that show the following:
1. That there was a refund, on 19th December 2025
2. That, this was reversed and I have been charged, on 19th December 2025
Therefore, no refund has been issued to me. How do I rectify this with eBay.

I placed an order for 4 books, when the package arrived it was damaged and 3 books were missing.
I contacted the seller for a return and a full refund.
The seller first stated that the tracking showed the package was delivered.
I contacted the seller again with more information, that the package was inside a Royal Mail bag with a label stating that “if the contents are damaged or anything is missing you may be able to claim for your loss”.
The package is damaged and some items were missing, instead of issuing a return and a full refund, the seller sent out another package.
This was also damaged and had one item missing.
I contacted the seller again requesting a return and a full refund.
The seller asked me to choose another item from their site.
I asked eBay to intervene, as my contract was with the seller and not a third party (the delivery company) to issue a return and a full refund.
eBay issued a full refund on 9th January 2026.
The refund and charge appear on the same day.
I am now contacting my credit card company to resolve this.
many thanks for the interest.

Surely a refund followed by a charge cancel out?

What does the refund relate to and why are you getting had a refund?
When was it originally debited to your credit card account?
