I am selling a full-length umbrella within the UK (approx. 95 × 10 × 7 cm).
When listing the item, eBay automatically forces me to use Simple Delivery and restricts me to the suggested couriers (Royal Mail, DHL, Evri). The problem is that the system does not allow me to enter or recognise the correct parcel dimensions, so it assumes an incorrect size and therefore calculates the wrong postage cost.
Because of this, I am unable to either:
• input the exact dimensions, or
• opt out of the suggested couriers and select my own delivery service with the correct pricing.
Has anyone found a way to adjust or override this so the correct parcel size and postage can be applied?
I have tried eBay customer service, but I was unable to get past the automated system, and the adviser did not understand the issue.
Any practical solutions would be appreciated.
