not received item by customer

i sent a parcel someone paid for regular post and not the tracked post. the customer opened a case saying they did not receive ( fair enough ) i went to the opened case and the 3 options are message buyer which i did stating i have proof of postage ( receipt with his postcode on ) but no reply . opt 2 add tracking number . which i cant as he didnt choose the tracking payment option . so i done all 3 and ebay sent me message now , sort out today or we will . i dont know what to do know they penny pinched and took all the call operators away . please help

Unless you have tracking, you have no option but to refund, if you do not then buyer escalates to ebay who will at your expense. You also get a defect.

Presumably you did not use Simple Delivery, and must have given buyer choice of postage that had no tracking. Proof of postage is just that nothing to do with delivery, it is only of use to support a claim on Royal Mail up to £20.
