If I select UK only on a search, and the seller states in their listings the item is in the UK, and then tracking proves it's actually in china, is this a breach of ebays rules/policy?

Yes it is, it's a breach of the item location misrepresentation policy and can be reported.

ok, that was my understanding too, so why does ebay not enforce it when its reported?
I did report it, and literally within seconds it was found to not be upheld, I supplied a full description of events including visible proof from the couriers in china, but ebays ai assisted revue ignored it and did nothing.
I appealed against the decision as I was informed I could and requested a human being took part, within a few minutes this was ignored too and no action taken,.
I'm now told I can bring it up again in 6 months time for another revue.!!
what is the point in policies, rules, and conditions if chinese sellers can ignore them, lie about locations and carry on deceiving with impunity.

ok why is this now showing as a "an accepted solution" to the problem??
nothing has been resolved?

Reporting anything to ebay brings the same response, appeals the same. Even if you get a human they are just as bad as AI.
Members get banned for minor offences, but the really bad sellers are ok, because AI says so.
How did you report?
The thing to look for when buying is location and delivery time. If location is shown as UK but long delivery avoid.
The only good thing is that if there is a problem with a purchase which says located in UK, then that is where it is returned to at sellers expense. If a case has to be opened, and no response, then escalate after 3 days and ebay should refund at expense of seller, and item does not have to be returned.

I did look at the location, manchester UK and the delivery time [which was quoted at 3-5 days, only after I had bought it did it all change, the seller claimed it had been sent but no tracking number was supplied, I repeatedly asked for one and finally one was supplied, it then transpired that courier had not got the item yet and it was still in the country of origin, china. I reported it to ebay using their system provided and gave more than enough information and proof of the listing breaching their own rules, they ignored this ,,, twice.
my guess is if they were to enforce this they stand to lose a high percentage of chinese trade and commissions, fees, etc. so they ignore it. funny how something is classed as perfectly acceptable if they are getting a few quid out of it.
I'm still waiting for my purchase, and if I get it ,,, eventually I will make my thoughts known in my feedback.
