Did you mean:

mentioning the makes the item is suitable for

I've just had my knuckles wrapped by the ebay police for stating which makes a turntable mat would be most suited for.

I think running a selling site is a bit different than actually creating attractive informative adverts. What do you fello sellers think?

This is presumably because eBay regards it as "keyword spamming" using well known brand names to increase views.   All you could [perhaps in their view] is state the actual make.

Sellers had in the past even listed things with "not" [brand name]

Tsk tsk!

That seems appropriate for ebay 'keyword spamming'

I did not use a key and I never eat spam.

The English language is being destroyed by the Americans.

If I think an item would suit certain makes, then I would state it, but then I speak English, not Americanese.
