letter from Moorcroft debt recovery

We received a letter from Moorcroft debt collection for my under age child. He doesn't have an eBay account. I spoke to them and they can't tell me what is debt for. How do I find out this front eBay? eBay don't publish their email address or their phone number!!!

I doubt that ebay would disclose any details to you, but the childs name must have been used somewhere.

Suggest you reply to Moorcroft giving the age of child concerned.

Not knowing what has really happened makes it impossible to give a proper answer, but your address being used is likely to lead to any accounts registered at that address being blocked.

An odd one, if you can prove your under age child is under 18 then the letter is effectively I would have thought null and void, and perhaps you need to politely inform Moorcroft of this matter.

As a minor cannot enter into a legally binding contract, therefore a debt collector would have no reason to contact them. They cannot legally owe a debt.

A simple letter to Moorcroft with proof that your child is under 18 should put this to bed I would think to resolve matters.
