is there way to avoid simple delivery

in short i there a way to avoid simple delivery

at the point of postage I've been using yodel a much cheaper option for my parcels but it's now been removed

pricing has become so confusing i now need to work out buyer protection the higher postage costs packaging ....

listing for a mere £3.76 I pay postage of 2.69 yodel

Order total
£4.60
eBay collected from buyer
Buyer Protection fee
-£0.86
Selling costs
Transaction fees
£0.00
Postage label
-£2.69 yodel if royal mail that goes to £3 odd
Order earnings
£1.05
if this was royal mail that's 80% plus to get a £1 item sent out
has anyone switched to a different selling platform as it's now possibly cheaper for the buyer to get an item from a high street store cheaper than i can do it

You do need to change to a Business  account ,  as you're talking about stock,  and some of your items you are showing ....10 items available.

A Private account is for those selling all used,  unwanted items,  such as an attic / wardrobe / garage clear out.

You've sold items on this account so it's easy now to change that account to a Business one this way:

  1.       Go to Account settings in My eBay.
  2.       Select Personal information.
  3.       Select Edit next to Account type. ...
  4.       Select Confirm to upgrade to a Business account.

You may need a PC/laptop for this and not the app or mobile browser.  Chrome and Firefox work best with eBay.

Then,  you're home and dry away from Simple Delivery !

The short answer.... No.

It's mandatory for Private sellers,  though we are told the meagre choice of Royal Mail and Evri are to be joined (soon🤔 ?)  by other carriers.

Watch out for eBay announcement maybe Yodel is making its way to SD, too .

Answer.... Yes.

You are selling all Brand new items so should be  correctly registered as a Business Seller,  so yes,  you'll avoid SD being able to select Custom Postage.

a massive ty to you both but the majority of my items are ex auction items some second hand (used) whilst other items are new other

would business selling allow this sometimes i can go weeks without a decent lot from the auctions i've lucky the last month to have recovery stock pop up

thus the huge amount of hydroponics this week it's light bulbs crazy but worth the efforts

Condition is irrelevant.   If someone buys goods with the intention of selling them, then they need to sell them on a business account.  New or used, doesn't matter.

You can open 2 accounts.  You just need different emails and different ID's for each account.

Then,  you can have a Private account for any used items you have,  personal items you don't want anymore.

The Business account for all your new items and the stock items.

You would need to look at the HMRC website but you might be covered by the trading allowance of £1,000.

Still need an ebay business account though.
