how to open multiple business accounts?

Does anyone have any tips or advice on opening multiple business accounts on eBay without having any issues with eBay?

The reason I'm asking is that pretty much all of my competitors have 2 or more business accounts with the same business details (like addresses, company numbers, vat numbers etc). Some have as many as, at last look, 15 business accounts. Most of these are selling the same items which I believed was a violation of eBay rules but ... the practicality of it that so many are doing so, either eBay can't or won't, which is most likely, enforce their own rules. These businesses are flooding the entire segment and I can see, via the research tool that these sellers are gaining more and more traction, whilst single account sellers are being squeezed out

So  can anyone give us any information on how to open multiple business accounts without alerting eBay's system?

Multiple accounts can be opened,  you just need a different email address for each account,  and a different username ID

Is it literally as easy as that? I thought it would've been more difficult than that. Not that I'm doubting - I just wondered if there were other hoops to jump through, but I do see lots of eBay accounts with the same company details and vat numbers etc...

This question will obviously  remain open,   and I'm sure other business account holders will be along later in the day,   to help point out,   if there are any other hoops.

Things change so much so quickly on eBay it's hard to keep up sometimes!

Found this info on one of their help pages.

Yes, you can have multiple eBay accounts in the UK, including both business and personal accounts, as long as you use different email addresses and usernames for each. eBay's policy allows for multiple accounts, but prohibits using them to circumvent their policies or rules. You can't bid on your own listings from multiple accounts or use multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions.

*yeah*..... when bringing up multiple accounts selling the same items, which eBay CS as well as the Community Team, have pointed out is a breach of selling duplicate items - but nothing is ever done about it. So thinking that I might as well drop any inhibitions I have about it.

When I set up my account several years ago, I got hammered with an MC011 issue which took 6 months to resolve because someone in the south of England had a similar sounding name to me - not business name, my actual name, so I'm really *really* iffy about it all.

Mmmm,  I understand your wariness here.  To be honest perhaps in your situ as eBay may hold any MC011 on file for members , perhaps best to stick with one account,  tread carefully !

Many rules are broken on the site,  true, but being such a massive site many slip the net , are not spotted and remain.

Selling duplicates,  that is,  individual listings of the same items is not allowed,  is it not possible for you to list these items on one listing and a quantity available of ** items?

Yes selling duplicate items on duplicate accounts is not allowed. We have that literally in writing from the community chat and from members of eBay CS including management.

Doesn't stop sellers though, although of course, I wouldnt do such a thing - not ever as I'd be the one case where eBay crack down hard if I ever did that, which I wouldn't.

Also bringing it up to eBay CS - they dont ever do anything to resolve the multiple accounts/duplicate listings as I suspect if they started they'd suddenly see their account numbers drastically falling along side the number of listings dropping as well which wouldn't look good.
