fraudulent schemes on the part of buyers.

I have offered all possible legal options for returning the product as described in the eBay rules, but the buyer categorically refuses to cooperate, claiming that exchanging bank details so that I can transfer the required amount for the shipping label is illegal and unacceptable to him. He offers me to first return the full amount to him and then he will buy a shipping label and return the product to me. I don't want to say it, but from the very beginning, when he made the purchase, it looks like a carefully planned fraudulent plan. The pictures in the ad showed the visual condition of the device very clearly, and the description does not mention anywhere that it is new and in perfect condition. He started making claims immediately after he received confirmation that the product had been delivered to the post office for further processing. I already felt that something was wrong here.  I personally, after submitting a claim (before making the purchase, he offered me his price. The first time I did not confirm, but the next day, when I received the same offer again, I finally confirmed it.) offered him to return the product unopened because it was very carefully packaged ... that is, to refuse the product upon receipt. All these years since I have been on eBay, I have been trying to be as honest as possible both towards eBay and towards the buyer, but this will be the second time that I have lost both property and funds due to people running fraudulent schemes. For me today, this amount is a lot of money that does not come easily to me. I am 100% sure that the shipping label issued by eBay is in full working order because when I scan it with my phone, the return (my) postal code is displayed.

maybe someone can advise how to act in this situation and not lose what is due to me and how to punish such buyers. I have also heard something similar from other sellers but I have never encountered it myself. By the way, the buyer is also the seller but everything I have seen and experienced in the last 6 days makes me think that this is a fake account with fraudulent tendencies.

Has the buyer opened a case and have you issued a label through the case?

You are a business, so have to accept all returns.

Buyer opens not as described case, ebay automatically issue returns label,

You refund on return.

Unless buyer opens ebay case, do nothing.

I was not offered such an option. eBay itself sent the label to the buyer but it says that the label is not working. I have offered the buyer all possible legal ways I know of to pay for a new label, including directly transferring money to the buyer's account, but he only accepts the option he offered....first I return the full amount of the item to the buyer and then he buys the label and returns the item to me, which really means giving both the money and the item as a gift.

I have a business account. It's not about that...it's about the buyer constantly coming up with all sorts of reasons not to return the item and get the full amount back for the item. He offers me to first refund his money and then he will buy a new shipping label and return the item. Doesn't that sound like fraud?

Advise the buyer to contact ebay if the label is not working. You have provided a label and that should be all that is required of you.  You should not need to send money, what if your buyer keeps the money instead of using it to buy a label?

If your buyer does not return the goods you don't need to refund.

i already did that and he went to ebay for help.  but the thing is that the label works because I scanned it on my phone with a QR code reader and it showed me my post code.

the response from Ebay was as follows:

The item the buyer wants to return is covered by our eBay Money Back Guarantee.  This allows the buyer to request a return for items they say do not match the listing description.
As you may know, sellers must honor the eBay Money Back Guarantee even if they state that they do not accept returns.

We've placed the request on hold for 4 calendar days from the day you received this email to give you time to provide the buyer with return postage.

There are two main ways to provide return postage for your buyer.  You can purchase a prepaid postage label from your preferred courier and then send the label to the buyer through My eBay: Messages.  If you choose this option, be sure to purchase postage sufficient to cover the item's return.

If you can't provide a label, another option is to provide the buyer with the funds to purchase their own postage.  See our Return postage for sellers help page for more about your return postage options.

If you don't provide return postage or otherwise resolve the return within 4 calendar days, you may be required to issue the buyer a full refund without the item being returned to you.

If you have questions, let us know.  We're here to help.

I don't think you should assume the buyer is fraudulent.

If the item they bought is a larger item, then the return label provided through Ebay (standard small parcel) will not be sufficient for them to return the item to you.

Personally, I would forward the email you have received from Ebay and state again that all you can do is transfer them the payment for the return postage.

If they refuse this offer again, you can go to the case, ask Ebay to look at the messages you have exchanged, and ask Ebay to step in.

The danger there is that they will refund the buyer without them having to send the item back.

Or, speak to Ebay, explain the buyer's attitude is making it impossible for you to get the item back and see if they will close the case in your favour.

"There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.”

If buyer has opened a not as described case, and you have responded correctly and a shipping label has been provided, I cannot see what more you can do. You have completed your part of the return process, it is now up to buyer to return item.

If buyer does not return within the set number if days, then case should be closed in your favour. If buyer says label does not work he should take it up with ebay.

I do not think you should contact ebay as that generally just gives buyer a refund.

From what you say it has so far been a normal return, (if you ignore actions of a bad buyer) and it is up to buyer to make the next move. If he escalates to ebay as he has not posted, again he should lose the case.

Obviously add to your blocked bidders list.
