Ebay have announced today they are going to withhold funds till after delivery of a item then for a further two days. Is this legal or is it yet another ebay tactic to do the sellers out of money. Seems ebay dosent care about sellers beern ripped off at all. Most pvt sellers cant afford to stand out of the money to post items let alone wait for 4 days

Private sellers won't have to pay for postage under the new changes as the buyer pays, and then the seller receives a label for posting the item out.
I think the postage holds until an item is delivered is the ultimate negative.

Lets get this right by ebay doing what there going to do from the 4th feb 2025 they are saying pvt sellers are not to be trusted and are crooks. What happens if someone recieves the item and then the seller dosent get paid this is illegal

Ebay are saying the opposite quote:
We’ve made it free to sell for private sellers, so it’s easier than ever for more sellers to bring you a wider variety of things you love. To support this change, we will charge a buyer fee to cover Buyer Protection services and ensure a trusted experience when purchasing items from private sellers. For listings by business sellers, Buyer Protection is added at no extra cost.
Not alot has changed if a seller can't provide tracking to show delivery. It would be upto the seller to chase the postal service they used.

It still dosent give ebay the right to withhold sellers funds, I shall be seeking legal advice and fighting ebay on this here in the uk we have laws and ebay dont seem to care.

So why do online supermarket deliveries show as pending until such time as they have actually delivered, then they take the buyers money.

Before you do that, it might be worth checking your own account status and your 'no returns' policy.
I find it hard to see how a private seller would have so many hundreds of identical card kits for sale.

It dosent matter what you see mate

Dont see what it has to do with you what i do ,sell i have spoken with ebay about this they are quite happy so give your advice to someone else. Legal procedings have already started so will be not saying anymore on the matter

Just a warning not to rely on anything ebay CS has to say on account status. Do your own research into ebay policies and consumer law.

Wouldnt trust anything anyone from ebay says they alter it like the wind depends who you chat too. Ebay couldnt care less about the consumer law all there interested in is profit for fat cats and sod the sellers like there stupid protection policy just a great way for them to make more money. Best thing to do with ebay is get it closed down

We were all notified of new T&C in January.
It said, by continuing to use ebay you agree to them.
If you don't agree, you can close your account.
This is common to lots of companies.

Thats ebays answer when ever you get in touch with them if your not happy you can close your account why dont they stop sitting on the fence and deal with problems they make.

No one likes new policy.
Try complaining to ebay, see what response you get.
