eBay selling invalid postage labels

On 2-Apr-2025 I sold a piano and downloaded a postage label for Yodel. Two Yodel drop off points refused the package because it was larger than 1m. I contacted Yodel and they told me that the label number was invalid. I had to pay the Post Office £17.95 to ship it.

On 9-Apr-2025 I downloaded a Post Office postage label for £2.70 for another item. It was larger than the suggested postage so I checked the FAQ that told me that the courier would deliver it anyway. Two Post Offices refused the package and I had to pay £4.50 for a new label.

Contacted eBay chat and was told that "they didn't sell postage" and that I should contact Yodel etc. blah blah not their problem.

Two conclusions from this. Firstly eBay may be legally correct in that it doesn't sell labels, but it certainly looks that way. And secondly, don't buy potsage from eBay. In my case, I won't sell anything on eBay ever again.
