Hi, eBay closed my request before it was resolved.
Does anyone have experience of how to address this?
My purchase was damaged in the post in March and did not arrive. The seller has documentation of this from Evri. The seller has a good rating and promised to re-send the item twice but didn't, despite me chasing, and now my time has run out and eBay has closed the case. I am still waiting for the promised item to arrive. I have written to the seller again outside of the original complaint and have not heard back.

You should have escalated the case before it ran out of time. You only get one case, so nothing more can be done through ebay.
You should always follow procedure and NEVER rely on promises which are unenforceable.
You should now contact your payment provider to see if they can help.
The ebay 30 day money back guarantee works well, but you must follow procedure and not do it your way or believe anything seller tells you.

...even worse to think that the seller was filibustering by repeatedly saying they were going to send the item! I'll contact my payment provider as you suggest.

You should have no problem issuing a not received chargeback with your payment provider.
