Anyone else having issues?
The last eBay Update I have is dated 26th November 2025 V6.237.01 and yes, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the App to no effect. I believe this is the last update available.
So this morning I decided to open the app and edit a few photos.
Normally the Draft would open and I could immediately select the photo section to edit photos and save.
This morning it took ages to open the Draft I wanted to edit, at first I just thought internet was slow but as the day has gone on and I have popped in and out, I've discovered it is most definitely running slow. Anyway, I was prompted to "Add Item Specifics", which fortunately I could click Continue and bypass.
Then I get prompted to "Select Condition" these hadn't been decided yet so I had to guess, probably something I'll forget to alter later and realistically not something I should have to do if I'm not ready to....
THEN, I'm prompted to edit the Title and Description on the same page. I'd already done these and really, really, didn't need to be asked to edit these before getting to where I wanted to go.
Then it hit me. A "Description" box with all sorts of jumbled up characters thrown in between the words I had already entered and the immediate throwback to 6/7 months ago hit me ... weeks and weeks of doing everything I could to stay off the App as, as soon as a photo was edited or added etc, the Description would become completely unformatted, all spaces deleted creating a squashed up mess which needed to be reformatted, spaces added, lines 'entered' to create paragraphs etc etc. What an absolute ball ache that was, and here we are back again.
After weeks and weeks it was all resolved and the App went back to where it should have been, as a useful tool that helped you to list as quickly as possible and not a hurdle that did everything it could to throw issues at you ands slow you right down.
I mean, what a time a year to reintroduce this crazy alteration to something that was already working well .. I have visions of an IT Engineer Apprentice working without supervision, as surely this can't be normal in this day and age? Surely any IT alterations are fully tested, checked and signed off by a senior before placing in the public domain?
Something I forgot also happened 6/7 months ago I have just been reminded of - eBay kept control of your photos. What do I mean by this, well normally you'd take a photo using the App, if the App failed to edit properly eg remove background, you could go to your camera roll, find the photo taken via the eBay App, remove the background outside of eBay and then re-populate the eBay Draft with the edited photo.
Well, 6/7 months ago the photos taken via the eBay app stopped appearing on your camera roll meaning you had no option but to drop the eBay App and use your Camera directly so that third party editing was possible and you didn't need to go re-doing what you had already done.
Well guess what, I have just taken some photos, neither the App or Web can remove the background without errors and eBay have gone back to 'controlling' the photos again so I cannot remove the background and list as I like to list without having to re-photograph everything again.
I'm pulling my hair out, this lasted I think up to 2 months last time and I am amazed that whatever was done back then has been allowed to be 'undone' .. surely even eBay must learn from past mistakes?
Sorry for long message, it's due to sheer frustration.
