combined postage

Hello - just wanted to clarify combined postage - after looking at the ebay help on this they seem to suggest it's still possible to combine postage as it was done prior to the simple delivery - is this the case? I'm so confused with all the changes constantly and I'm a private seller who's been disposing of a collection of toy cars where quite often some were bought by a single buyer - I was au fait with altering the invoice etc at that time -  and then it all changed with simple delivery.  I've now got two items that have been bought by a buyer and the listing had simple delivery so I am assuming that ebay reduced the postal cost - both items require a medium parcel so does ebay calculate for the combining of quite large items which could need a Royal Mail size large box??  It's the lack of detail re the postage on the order now that makes me doubt how I'm sending it.  They seem to ignore the fact that some items need a lot of packaging because they're delicate in their assessment of parcel size.   Any help is gratefully received!!!

combined postage

If a buyer put the items in the basket first, it seems to then combine postage for them to pay at eBay checkout.

Some sellers are leaving a message on their listing,  for example.....   ' If you wish to buy multiple items,  please let me know before buying,  I will relist them as one listing so only one postage cost is charged, combining postage is not currently possible.  Or,  place items in your basket first, and eBay will combine a postage cost for you to pay.
