Do you have tracking to show the item was delivered?  Then, send those details to the buyer asking them to kindly check on the courier's / Royal Mail's Tracking online,  to see where and when it was delivered. 

 

If they still open a case for item not received,  enter those tracking numbers into the case details as long as it shows delivery,  the case will close in your favour,  no need to refund.

 

If you haven't done so already,  enter the tracking numbers where you marked the item as dispatched.

If a buyer is claiming that an item didn't arrive, but the postal tracking record states that it was delivered, eBay will support you. Unfortunately it's quite common today for parcels to be left on the doorstep, and stolen. This is bad luck for the buyer, but eBay doesn't hold the seller responsible for what happens after delivery.

 

The buyer can open a case under eBay's money back guarantee, and you reply by entering the tracking number to prove it was delivered. You MUST first upload the tracking number to eBay, see:  https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/posting-items/tracking-items-youve-sold?id=4088

The whole procedure is automated and you shouldn't need to speak to eBay. If you run into any problems, people here are always willing to advise you.

adding to the advice already given -

 

No matter what happens the buyer can damage your account if they report the false positive you left them stating that they wanted a refund even though they had received the item.
