bed

i was recently looking for a trudle bed and then i messaged an account who sells beds, i will also leave a screenshot of their account, i asked for a discount and they asked me to message them on whatsapp so i can pay in cash when delivery happens, so i did , they said it’s a one year guarantee and everything and it hasn’t even been 2 months since buying and my little sisters have been struggling so much with the bed they only weigh up to 45kg and it’s breaking so easily i had to drill it several times and just now i hammered the outside hoping it would stay still, i contacted them and all they said was u damaged the bed when i had no other choice , im 18 years old and full time student looking after my siblings i cant afford to buy another bed i even agreed for half a refund but their communication is very poor ill send all the screenshots.it wont allow me to add all the screenshots of the bed damage and the conversation and when they confirmed its a 1 year guarantee

Sorry, but as you didn't buy through ebay, they won't help.

I assume it was a business, so contact citizens advice.

messaging outside eBay especially by whatsapp is a red flag for a scam.

Paying cash is strictly against eBay rules.

Unfortunately there's nothing you can do through eBay and doubtful you can get any help.

but you could speak to citizens advice, especially if they are a business and you have a receipt.

I'm afraid that warranties offered on eBay often prove worthless. All you can count on with any certainty is eBay's own, 30 day money back guarantee. But you have thrown away even that if you allowed the seller talk you into paying by cash, which isn't allowed.

In theory you may have some consumer rights if your seller is a registered UK business seller, but having rights and being able to exercise them are not the same thing! From what you've described I suspect you may end up having to write this off to experiance. Your best bet is to find a friend with woodworking skills and try to fix it. As someone who does, your attempt to "hammer the outside hoping it would stay still" makes me shudder! Good luck anyway!
