Wrong packaging

Hi

I recently sold some table mats which I packed very well with cardboard corners,bubble wrap etc.

The parcel was delivered yesterday lunch time.This evening 7th may,I get a message from the buyer complaining that the package was wet and damaged the mats.I asked for photos of the packaging and it wasn’t the packaging I sent them in.I queried this and she said”it must have been repacked” I have contacted the courier,waiting for a reply,but I don’t think she’s being honest.What is the best thing for me to do please?

With Simple Delivery if the item is lost or damaged  eBay refund the buyer and you keep the payment for the transaction.    So ask the buyer to open a "not as described" return case and (hopefully) that's what will happen.
