Why does the postage cost not automatically appear on your listing when selecting postal service?

Just started today using the updated eBay listing site.   When postage is selected, why does the cost of the service you select not automatically enter the price?  Do you have to enter that manually now?

Of course you need to enter cost, don't you know that ebay charge the selling fee on sale price and postage, so if you just charge the standard price, you are losing money.

Also however do you think ebay can quote postage, just based on the service being used, without knowing weight, value, size etc?
