I'm afraid it's too late to do anything on ebay. They only allow 30 days for claims and don't get involved with warranties. Contact your payment provider about a refund or chargeback. If you used Paypal or similar, or your credit card you should be OK.

You are out of time to do anything through ebay, but so long as you did not pay by paypal, they also only allow 30 days, contact your payment provider.
If bought brand new from a business seller there should be a proper warranty, in which case Citizens Advice should be abler to help, however if bought from a private seller, it is most unlikely that a warranty would be transferable.

Sadly, every year at this time we hear from buyers who bought Christmas presents in advance, only to find that they didn't work correctly when opened on Christmas day. Worse, they are no longer eligible for eBay's money back guarantee as this only lasts for 30 days.
When buying on eBay, the moral is always to open and check items on delivery. Then, if intended as a gift, repack them until needed.
